High Country United Church

All of our programs and activities are open to anyone in Dufferin County and beyond. Check our website or follow us on Facebook for updated information - programs and services will be added soon.  Check our website and Facebook pages often as we're always adding new things. Pop in and grab our latest weekly newsletter or monthly calendar - available at the glass door entrance. 

*We have everything you need to participate in our exercise classes. Bring your water bottle and a sense of humour as we grow stronger and more mobile together.

Tuesdays:
10:00AM in the lower hall - Puzzles, Crocheting and Knitting (free)
11:00AM in the lower hall - Arthritis Foundations Exercise Class (free)
11:30AM in the lower hall or subdivision - Walking Workout (free)
1:00PM in the sanctuary - Strumming Seniors Ukulele Group (free)

Wednesdays:
11:00AM in the lower hall - Strength & Stretch Exercise Class (free)

Fridays:
11:00AM in the lower hall - VON S.M.A.R.T. Exercise Class (free)

Free monthly programs:

  • Living into Hope: A space to rediscover who we are, now that our loved one is gone. Peer support group led by Rev. Janet Jones and Beverly Dawkins that helps us live with our grief with a focus on moving forward. Held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:00pm in the lower hall.
  • Cancer Support Group is a peer support group led by Rev. Janet Jones and Beverly Dawkins on the last Thursday of each month at 1:00pm in the lower hall. Patients, survivors, caregivers, family and friends welcome.
  • Seniors Lunch Speaker Series is held on the last Monday of each month beginning at 11:00AM in the sanctuary. An opportunity to learn more about health and wellness or a community organization is presented. Lunch follows in the lower hall at 12:00pm. Registration required if staying for lunch, though we try to order extra in case plans have changed and others can attend. 
  • Tech Classes, Tech Support, and Identifying Online Scams are held in our lower hall and led by Stephanie Hawkins. Bring your device(s), questions, and learn together. 

Various times throughout the year:

  • Free programs partnering with Dufferin Area Family Health Team - Cooking with Dieticians
  • Free programs partnering with Central West's Self-Management Team - workshops on medication, foot care, stress, sleep, digestion, heart health, food labels and program series on living with Chronic Pain or Diseases
  • Free Dreamers Unite Presentations are presentations to the community from within the community as we learn about what we can do for others and volunteer our time. 
  • Free Living Life Conversations are led by Rev. Janet Jones as we learn and grow together in various topics of life like death and dying, suicide, mental health, addictions, challenging family dynamics and more. 
  • Free programs partnering with Canadian Mental Health Association
  • Free programs partnering with The Do More Agricultural Foundation
  • $20 Concerts where High Country United Church brings in musicians/groups from the wider area that meet the needs of the hearts and souls of seniors. Usually offered in March, April, May, September, October, and November. 

High Country United Church is located at 346255 15 Sideroad in Mono (Camilla).  We are a fully accessible facility.
